Android is an Operating System developed by Google (an American Company) that’s built specially for mobile devices in 2008. It is 6 years old at this time.It is the world’s most powerful mobile platform. Technically speaking android uses touch inputs (swiping, tapping, pinching, and reverse pinching) using touch screen.Now android expanding circle to android wear (for wrist watches,smart watches),android auto (for cars) and android TV (for home entertainment).Android uses Linux kernel and touch screen GUI for the ease of its users.
History of Android Platform
Android inc. was found in California by in October 2003 by Andy Robin and Rich Miner.In the begging there intentions was to develop and Operating System for digital camera.Later on it was realized that market trend was going to smartphones and then they decided to develop an OS for smartphones.
In 2005 Google acquire the android inc.Team of android owners Rubin, Miner, and White stay in the company and work to develop and OS for mobile devices.Below is the List of all android versions by name and date with features.
