My wife is a sociopath, and is very abusive to me. We’ve been married 21 years, and have 2 beautiful children who are my entire world. She abuses me in front of our kids, and luckily does not hit them but she hits me, and she is verbally/mentally abusive to them and abusive in a very passive-aggressive type of way. I’m currently in the process of buying some spy cameras and audio equipment that I can put in my living room and kitchen which are the two areas she abuses me/threatens me in the most. I am also going to put audio listening devices in our vehicles, so when we are in the vehicle together it will catch the threats or abuse she commits. I love my wife but she rules with an iron fist and hurts me in so many ways. I’m a very gentle man, and am not one to hit someone. I would rather just be hit than hit back. I know even if I hit back I’d just go to jail anyways because of the ridiculous inequality of the justice system in Canada.

We were having an argument about money, and her eyes glazed over, she called me a “pig” told me I was just like her father (who was an abusive asshole, in fact I’m nothing like him and have never once hit her back because I feel it’s wrong and my children don’t need to see a man hitting a woman) and she went into a rage, threw the car into a reverse from a dead stop, hit the gas as hard as she could, running over the edge of a sidewalk type thing.

She then pulled out onto the road, and put the pedal to the floor and said something like “this is what happens when you upset me” and drove straight into oncoming traffic going about 130km/h in a 50km/h zone, and at the last minute before hitting the oncoming cars she swurved and went through an intersection without even looking, and started hitting me as hard as she could in the face and shoulder and a police officer pulled out in front of us, and she continued hitting me, with the cop ahead of us, and he didn’t even notice.

She turned off the road, and was crying, and I was just shocked..She has never done something THAT irrational.

I don’t know what her true intentions were, or if she actually wanted to kill me or both of us. Since she turned away at the last moment, maybe it makes the crime less severe but a crime was committed here right?

So, I’ve been interested in getting a set of resistance bands so that I can simulate a “cable machine” at home for chest exercises.

I see that resistance bands have varying “pound ratings”. For example, for Lifeline products, their r4 cables have a “40 lb peak rating”. I’m assuming that means when the cable is fully extended, the tension is 40 pounds.

So my question is: if the “peak” rating is 40 pounds, then what is the ACTUAL pounds of tension when doing an exercise? Since the cable has 0 pounds when it is “limp”, is the average pound rating going to be approximately halfway between 0 lb and 40 lb (20lb)?

I bought an iphone4 from someone today, he called at&t and we checked the IMEI, according to the receptor the iphone was unlocked and under apple care. Does this mean i can use it with T-mobile?
He reset the phone and now the phone says i have to activate it..do i just plug in my sim card?

gateway nv53 laptop-windows 7 home premium (service pack 1 installed),AMD Athlon II dual-core M300, 2.00 GHz, 4 GB memory, 64-bit : 2 yrs old—–, no issues until now;
turned laptop off one night, properly. turn back on next morning, power came on, lights for power and battery came on, a little click as it verified the DVD drive and then nothing. lights for hard drive icon not lighting up, nor does the wireless icon or touch pad icon light up, but the audio icons light up when pressed. total black screen. disassembled this laptop so many times to troubleshoot and it still acts the same. it shuts down when you hold the button in. i took out the hard drive and turned it on (no beeps for codes), i took out, even exchanged the RAM cards, and turned it on (no beeps for codes). no sounds are heard no matter what button or key i press. the inside of laptop was clean, fan works just fine, nothing spilled, no dust and was only stored on the side of the bed and unplugged over night as usual. hard drive tested on another laptop (works fine). RAM cards tested on another laptop (works), CMOS battery exchanged (works fine). stored is totally disassembled for a month, put it back together and it still won’t start. it’s like it won’t communicate with the hard drive. i put on my static wristband, lights and magnifying glasses and see no visible damage, wear, melting, scratches, and all soldered points looks well intact. am i missing something? what could it be. i don’t have special tools such as a multimeter to test the motherboard and not sure how to test it with one anyway, and in my town, i have called on every tech and i cannot afford their diagnostic fees. all the parts look good even the tiny little wires…this laptop was always handled with special care, it just happened out of the blue and i just don’t believe it was exposed to any kind of static charge that would fry the board, we live in 75-85% humidity area and well, the a/c in our home has yet to dry out the house, and there was no other electronic machine anywhere near the laptop over night and when it was turned on and failed for the first time. if i could afford to replace it, i would, it’s my daughter’s and she needs her laptop for school work/projects, AP classes in high school quite demanding and she said the laptops/computers at school are just way too slow.

regarding 1st comment: we tried replacing the monitor (we have 3 matching laptops, why it’s easy to test components), and it worked fine. well, i will check the graphics card, that one i haven’t thought of yet. thanks.
